AUS Open: Serena, Djokovic enter fourth round

Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic recorded contrasting wins to enter the fourth round at the Australian Open. While seven-time champion Serena showed devastating form in brushing aside teenage sensation Dayana Yastremska 6-2 6-1, six-time winner at Melbourne Park - Novak Djokovic, needed four sets to prevail over Canada's Denis Shapovalov.

The world number one Serb won 6-3, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 in 2 hours and 22 minutes. In the last-16, Novak will face Russia's Daniil Medvedev, who won 6-2, 7-6 (3), 6-3 against 21st seed David Goffin.

Serena will face the winner of the match between her sister Venus and world number one Simona Halep in the next round.

Other women players who progressed to the fourth round were fourth seed Naomi Osaka, sixth seed Elina Svitolina, 13th seed Anastasija Sevastova and 17th seed Madison Keys.

In men's singles event, apart from Djokovic and Medvedev, 8th seed Kei Nishikori, 16th seed Milos Raonic and 23rd seed Pablo Carreno Busta also won their respective third round matches.
