On Sunday, the 20-year-old Greek had stunned 20-time Grand Slam champion and two-time defending Australian Open champion Roger Federer in the fourth round. And in the quarters, the world number 15 continued the good work and beat Bautista Agut 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 on Rod Laver Arena to enter his maiden Major semi-final.
Next up for Tsitsipas, who is the youngest man to reach the last four in Melbourne since Andy Roddick in 2003, will be either world No. 2 Rafael Nadal or American Frances Tiafoe.
The winner of one ATP title, Tsitsipas, at 20 years and 168 days, is the youngest man to reach the last four of a Grand Slam since Novak Djokovic at the 2007 US Open.
"It all feels like a fairytale almost. I am just living the dream, living what I have been working for. I feel a bit emotional but not too much because I know I really worked hard to get here," said Tsitsipas, who was the first Greek player to go beyond the fourth round of a Grand Slam when he knocked out Federer.
