Costly Telugu Villain on Sale?

The concept of selling husband for the money  in Subhalagnam was highlighted. Subhalagnam, directed by S. V. Krishna Reddy and is  produced by K. Venkateswara Rao under the Sri Priyanka Pictures banner, presented by C. Aswini Dutt. The movie starring Jagapathi Babu, Aamani and Roja was released in 1994. Now the makers are planning to make it’s sequel. It is known news that versatile actor Jagapathi Babu, who is popular for villainous avatar has become very costly nowadays. The maker have decided to rope Jagapathi Babu to play the lead role in its sequel.

 

In Subhalagnam, Aamani and Roja played the female leads. In this film Aamani sells her husband Jagapathi  Bbau to Roja for Rs 1 Cr but later she  learns the importance of family and realizes her mistake. After a long gap of 25 Years, once again the makers have decided to make its sequel, which will be directed by newcomer director and is produced by 70mm Entertainments, which produced Yatra, the biopic of YS Rajasekhar Reddy. Now we have to wait and see whether this time Jagapathi Babu will be on the sale or not.

Subhalagnam won two Filmfare Awards. This movie was remade in Tamil as Irattai Roja, with Ramki, in Kannada as Ganga Yamuna, with Shivrajkumar, in Hindi as Judaai, with Anil Kapoor and Sridevi and also later remade in Malayalam as Sundara Purushan, with Suresh Gopi.

Jagapathi Babu was last seen in Trivikram Srinivas’s directorial venture Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava, in which Young Tiger Jr NTR played the lead role. Currently he is busy in his upcoming big budget movie Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, which is being directed by Surender Reddy and is bankrolled by Ram Charan under the banner of Konidela Production. Jagapathi Babu is playing the role of Veera Reddy. yesterday the makers released his first look poster which went viral.
