Namrata Shirodkar, the wife of Mahesh Babu has refuted the rumors about him campaigning for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and contesting in the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh. Mahesh Babu was spotted with Andhra Pradesh chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on several occasions. This fueled the speculations that Srimanthudu star would campaign for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the impending election and he may even contest for the elections in Andhra Pradesh state. But finally Namrata has refuted the rumor. Namrata said, “Mahesh Babu barely says a few words to me, where will he make speeches on the public platforms? He is the most apolitical person I know.”
Recently during the media interaction, Namrata said, “My husband Mahesh Babu respects what Chandrababu Naidu has done for Andhra Pradesh and the progress of both Telugu States- Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is a matter of great pride for him. Just because he is seen with Chandrababau Naidu, it doesn’t make him a political figure.”
Namrata clarified that her husband Mahesh Babu has no political ambitions. She added that neither Mahesh Babu is campaigning for any political party not he is going to contest any elections. She added, “Mahesh Babu is happy to be loved as an actor and the closest he will come to politics is playing a politician on the screen. Beyond that, he has no political ambitions.”
Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar first met during the shoot of B Gopal‘s Vamsi. They fell in love and after dating for 4 years, they tied the knot. The couple has a son and daughter Sitara.
On the wokside, Mahesh Babu was last seen in Bharat Ane Nenu, in which he played the role of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and the movie was hit at the box office. Currently he is busy in the shoot of Maharshi.
