M Balayya passed away on Saturday morning at his residence in Hyderabad . He was an actor, writer, director and producer in Telugu cinema. He  had acted in 300 movies. He was 94.

Balayya was born at Chavupadu, Amaravathi mandalam, Guntur district to Mannava Guravaiah Chowdary and Annapurnamma. Inspired by the drama during his college days, he ventured into  the  film industry with guidance from Tapi Chanakya. He was best known for playing the roles like judge and police officers in the movies.

He had produced many hit movies under his banner Amrutha films.   He made his debut as an actor with the social drama  Ethuku Pai Ethu  which was directed by Tapi Chanakya and made by Sarathi Studios.  The movies such as Parvati Kalyanam, Bhagyadevata, Kumkuma Rekha established Balayya as an actor.  He is best known for acting in Bala Bharatam,  Alluri Seetharama Raju, Pelli Sandadi. Devaraya, Tappu Chesi Pappu Koodu, Yamaleela, Nene Monaganni and Shri Krishna Pandaviyam.

As a director, he made movies such as Police Alludu, Pasupu Taadu, Nijam Chebite Nerama. M Balayya  also won Nandi awards as a writer and producer.
