Sajid Khan, the Bollywood film maker who was accused of sexually harassing multiple women, has been suspended for a year by the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA).
According to the latest update, IFTDA – following the Internal Complaints Committee’s (ICC) recommendation, has suspended Sajid Khan’s membership for a period of one year with immediate effect. A copy of the letter was sent to Sajid Khan on Tuesday evening.
Sajid Khan was given an opportunity to put forth his defence. But he did not give any explanation, response or defence to the allegations of sexual harassment. The film maker admitted that he had s*x relations with girls, but with their consent
It is known news that few days ago, Dia Mirza, Lara Dutta and Bipasha Basu also called out Sajid Khan for his alleged misbehaviour with his female colleagues on film set.
In the month of October, three women, actress Rachel White, assistant director Saloni Chopra and journalist Karishma Upadhyay revealed their tales of sexual harassment at the hands of director Sajid Khan.
Sajid Khan is popular for his movies such as Housefull and Humshakals. Incidentally, he is the brother of another famous director, Farah Khan.
IFTDA issued a show-cause notice to Sajid Khan in the month of October and sent him a letter, demanding an explanation for his alleged offensive behavior. But Sajid Khan denied the chargers and said the allegations have harmed his professional and personal life.
