Veteran director Kodi Ramakrishna passed away on 22nd February. In a career spanning over three decades, the director of some of the biggest blockbusters of Tollywood, has worked with the stalwarts of the Tollywood. Celebrities, family and friends paid their last respects to the filmmaker at his residence. On this occasion, Superstar Krishna interacted with media and talked about the naughty side of his son Mahesh Babu. Krishna said, “It was Kodi Ramakrishna who spotted a young Mahesh Babu on the sets of Poratam in 1983, and decided to cast Mahesh Babu as his brother.”
Krishna further added, “Mahesh Babu was very naughty and he used to run around the studio without making noise. But Kodi Ramakrishna was patient enough to make my son Mahesh Babu act and give his best performance in his first full-fledged role as a child artiste”
Superstar Krishna and Mahesh Babu starrer Poratam is produced by S. Ramachandra Rao under the SR Films banner, in which Jaya Sudha played the female lead. Mahesh Babu played the role of Bujji whereas Krishna was seen essaying the role of Krishna Murthy.
On the otherside, currently Mahesh Babu is busy in his upcoming movie Maharshi. It is his 25th project, in which Pooja Hegde is playing the female lead and it is being helmed by Vamsi Paidipally of Oopiri fame. Maharshi is about three friends played by Mahesh Babu, Allari Naresh and Pooja Hegde. It is being produced jointly by Dil Raju, C. Ashwini Dutt and Prasad V. Potluri under the banners Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Movies and PVP Cinema.
Mahesh Babu was supposed to team up with Sukumar after Maharshi but the project failed to take off for certain reasons. According to the latest buzz, Mahesh Babu has also joined hands with Anil Ravipudi, for an upcoming project, which is expected to go on the floor in the month of May.
