Prajnesh rises to career-best 97 in ATP Rankings

India's top-ranked male tennis player Prajnesh Gunneswaran has added another feather to his cap by breaking into the men's singles top-100 for the first time in his career.

The semi-final showing at the Chennai Challenger last week helped Gunneswaran jump six places to 97 in the world. In the past decade, only Somdev Devvarman and Yuki Bhambri have been ranked inside the top-100 from India.

The challenge for Prajnesh now will be too maintain the ranking as that would guarantee him entry into the Grand Slam singles main draws.

Ramkumar Ramanathan also rose to 128 with a jump of five places. At number four, is Saketh Myneni (255, +5) and following him is Sasi Kumar Mukund, who has also jumped to a career-best 271 after his semi-final showing in Chennai.

In the doubles, Rohan Bopanna retained the 37th spot and is followed by Divij Sharan (39, +1), Leander Paes (75, +7), Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan (77, +2) and Purav Raja (100, +3).
