The Tamil film Ratsasan, which was lauded for its structured and engaging screenplay, is going to be remade in Telugu. It is known news that Young actor Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas is on the board to play the lead role. Now according to the latest buzz, the makers are planning to rope Raashi Khanna to play the female lead role.
The sources say that the makers were apparently looking for a fresh face initially but went ahead for an established face since they felt that could get the film a good market. If everything will go accordingly, Raashi Khanna will be seen sharing the screen space with flop star Bellemkonda Sai Srinivas.
In Tamil hit Ratsasan Vishnu Vishal and Amala Paul played the lead role. The film will be directed by Ramesh Varma who earlier helmed the movies Veera and Ride.
Apparently, Ramesh Varma saw the Tamil film Ratsasan and was impressed with its content. He then recommended it to Satyanarayana, who eventually bagged the Telugu remake rights. Ramesh Varma was supposed to team up with producer Satyanarayana Koneru for a romantic entertainer. He even readied the script, but just when things were set for the production, he chanced upon the remake of Ratsasan. Earlier it was also heard that the makers are trying to rope Rakul Preet Singh to play the female lead but now the sources say that the makers have approached Bengal Tiger girl Raashi Khanna.
In Tollywood, Raashi Khanna was last seen in Srinivasa Kalyanam starring Nithiin, which was bombed at the box office. Currently she is sharing the screen space with Vishal in Ayogya, the remake of Telugu film Temper, which is being helmed by debutant Venkat Mohan and is bankrolled by B. Madhu under the banner Light House Movie Maker. Apart from Ayogya, Raashi Khanna will also be seen in Shaitan Ka Bachcha.
